Madras Andrology and Assisted Reproduction Research Centre (MARC) , Chennai, is one of the foremost Male infertility Centre in India. The only centre started by the Urologist Dr.A.Rajasekaran who has the experience of evaluating more than 30,000 infertile couple since 1972.

Born on 17th November 1935, he was graduated from Stanley Medical College (1993 – 98) & Madras Medical College (M.Ch Urology).

1971	-	Started First Infertility Clinic, at Government Hospital, Royepettah, Chennai.
1972 – 98	-	Professor of Urology, Kilpauk Medical college & Madras Medical College
1973	-	Training at Family Welfare Bureau, Bombay
1978	-	STYPTOE & EDWARDS at Cambridge invented IVF & Birth of Louis Brown.
1981	-	‘Cryopreservation of Human Semen’ - Published in Indian Journal of Urology.
1984	-	Presented paper at AUA New Orleans on Male Infertility & Internal Urinary fistula Orientation to Male Infertility – Amelar (New York), Sherman Sibler (St Louis), Mark Goldstein (New York) USA.
1988	-	Participated at Edinburgh Infertility Conference (UK)
1989	-	Selected by UNFPA/ AVSC /GOI as core officer for training in Microsurgery at San Francisco, USA.
1991	-	Awarded FRCS by Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK.
1992	-	Elected as ‘President, Urological Society of India’.
1992 - 93	-	Invention of ICSI by Van Steirteghem & Polermo.
1993	-	Awarded ‘Urology Gold Medal & Delivered Himadri Sarcar oration- Topic ‘Clinical, Cytologic & Genetics of Male Infertility’.
1994	-	Visited Sydney IVF & Interacted with David Mortimor on Andrological Techniques.
1997	-	Established MARC II, Madras Andrology & Assisted Reproduction Research Centre performing ICSI in Male Infertility.

2001	-	Awarded Doctorate of Science, D.Sc (Honoris Causa) by Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai.
2004 - 09	-	President of National Board of Examinations (Second Term) developed Fellowship Programme in Reproductive Medicine recognizing several centre of Excellence in India.
2008	-	Awarded Padma Shri by the Her Excellency the President of India.
